Launch a coin
Use Launch a coin with a Solana wallet you control. Phantom, Solflare and Backpack are supported.
Before you begin
Prepare a name, ticker, image and description. Fund the launch wallet for transaction fees, account rent, and any first buy you want to make.
Pick the cause first. Only organisations in the directory can be named; if the one you want is missing, nominate it — nomination is open, designation is not.
1. The cause
Search the directory by name, @handle, category or registration. A cause you can pick was verified on its own website: the X account that site links is the only account that can claim the vault. One marked "no verified X account yet" cannot be named until that is confirmed.
2. The coin
| Field | Limit |
|---|---|
| Name | 1–32 characters |
| Ticker | 1–10 letters or digits |
| Image | Up to 1.5 MB |
| Description | Up to 500 characters |
Metadata is uploaded before creation. Public metadata is not a place for private information.
3. The split
The cause receives at least 50%. The other half is yours to divide between a buyback-and-burn and yourself, in any proportion.
| Cause | Burn | You |
|---|---|---|
| 50% | 50% | 0% |
| 50% | 0% | 50% |
| 75% | 25% | 0% |
| 100% | — | — |
These choices freeze permanently at settlement. Read How the fee is split before approving.
4. Your first buy
Optional, capped at 10 SOL. It is bought in the same transaction that creates the coin, so you are provably the first buyer — nothing can trade ahead of it. The amount is a budget; network fees and rent are additional.
5. Two signatures
- Create the coin, with your buy inside it.
- Settle — install the split and revoke pump.fun's administrator.
Read each wallet request. Give never asks for your recovery phrase or a private key.
Between the two, the coin is live and its split is not yet frozen. If your browser closes, keep the same storage and connect the original wallet: Resume launch reuses the reserved mint and does not repeat your buy.
After launch
The coin appears on the launches board only after the service re-reads the chain and finds exactly the split you chose, frozen. Creator fees require trading before they appear; a new coin legitimately shows zero.
